Men’s Soccer Steadies for Weekday Matchup with Knox

Titans set to kick off at 4:45 p.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team travels to Galesburg, Ill. for a weekday game against Knox College Tuesday, Sept. 21. The game is scheduled to start at 4:45 p.m. The Titans continue to look for its first win of regular season play after a close 3-2, loss to Loras College Saturday, Sept. 11. 

The Titans are led by senior Zack Kokes (Naperville, Ill.-Naperville Central) who scored twice against Loras for a total of four points. The senior has the only goals scored for the Green and White thus far as fellow senior Trevor Martin (San Diego, Calif.-St. Augustine) recorded the solo assist for the Titans. 

IWU and Knox have faced each other a total of 10 times dating back to the 1995 season. The Titans hold the advantage in the all-time series 9-1. The last time the two teams played the Green and White hosted the Prairie Fire during the 2018 season. IWU went on to win 1-0, marking the fifth game in the all-time series where the Titans kept Knox scoreless. 

Knox will welcome the Titans with a 1-4 overall record. The Prairie Fire are coming off two games against College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opponents. Knox faced off against North Park University and Augustana College Tuesday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 18, respectively. The Prairie Fire dropped both matches, 4-0 against the Vikings of North Park and 1-0 to Augie.
