IWU Wins CCIW Preview with Fourth-Place Finish at IWU Fall Classic

NORMAL, Ill. - The No. 11 Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team climbed into fourth at the IWU Fall Classic, Sept. 18, which also doubled as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Preview. IWU carded a 310 to finish with a 36-hole score of 619 on the par-72, 5835-yard Ironwood Golf Course, and was the top CCIW finisher.

No. 24 WashU, led by Sydney Kuo's three-under 69, claimed the team title at 602 (306-296). Denison placed second (310-297=607), while Grinnell rounded out the top-three at 617. UW-Whitewater and No. 18 Carthage tied for fifth (620).

Freshman Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) led the Titans as she tied for 13th. Ludwig carded an even-par 72 to pace the Green and White on day two. Sophomore Lexi Onsrud (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) tied for 15th, finishing one stroke behind Ludwig.

Illinois Wesleyan's second team placed 15th, and bested CCIW squads North Central and Carroll.

The Titans return to action next weekend, Sept. 24-25, at the Dechert Classic hosted by Millikin University.
