Midweek Battle with Bluejays on Tap of Women's Volleyball

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team plays host to Elmhurst University Wednesday night, April 7, for a 5:30 p.m. first serve. The match will be the final of IWU's conference slate.

The Titans head into the midweek match with a 4-2 record, while Elmhurst sits at 5-0 on the year. IWU and EU have met 47 times since 1994, with the Bluejays leading the all-time tally, 28-19. Despite Elmhurst's success in the series, Illinois Wesleyan has won six straight against EU dating back to 2014.

The Titans are hitting .172 as a team, while holding opponents to a .127 clip. Junior Courtney McAuliffe (Lemont, Ill.-Lemont) leads the Titans with 69 kills on a whopping .347 attacking percentage. Freshman Maddie Dryfhout (Orland Park, Ill.-Chicago Christian) ranks second on the team with 41 kills and is hitting .211.

Defensively, IWU holds a 39-37 edge in blocks against the opposition, as well as a 377-348 advantage in digs. McAuliffe paces the Titans with 25 blocks, 1.19 per set, while junior Dana Kiszkowski (Schaumburg, Ill.-Schaumburg) and sophomore Evy Makris (Orland Park, Ill.-Sandburg) add 15 and 13, respectively. Junior Amber Juarez (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal U High) is the team leader with 108 digs, picking up 5.14 per set. Junior Makenna Jacoby (Shorewood, Ill.-Minooka Community) has 60 digs, followed by sophomore Grace Sanders (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) and junior Madi Corey (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) at 40 apiece.
