Men’s Soccer Makes Trip to Millikin

Titans carry perfect 2-0 record

DECATUR, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team travels to the campus of Millikin University to square off against the Big Blue Wednesday, April 7 at 1 p.m. 

The Titans are 2-0 after taking wins at home against Augustana College (2-1) March, 21 and Elmhurst University (5-3) March, 27. The Big Blue are 1-0 after defeating Augie, March 31. 

IWU and MU have seen each other a total of 39 times dating back to the 1986 season. Wednesday's game will be the 40th match between the conference foes. The Titans are 17-20-2 against Millikin, though IWU carries the momentum with victories in the last four games over the Big Blue. Three out of the last four games have resulted in overtime wins for the Green and White. 

Junior Zack Kokes (Naperville, Ill.-Naperville Central) leads the Titans with a total of four points after two games, scoring a goal each game this season. Freshman CJ Rodriguez (Santa Barbara, CA.-Dos Pueblos) earned his first-career points after three assists during the Elmhurst 5-3 win. Six different titans have put up goals for the Green and White. Including Kokes with the team high two goals, freshmen Joshua Cohen (Wheaton, Ill.-Glenbard South) and Sasha Tylnyy (Wheeling, Ill.-Buffalo Grove), junior Trevor Martin (San Diego, Calif.-St. Augustine), and seniors Keagan James (Kokomo, Ind.-Kokomo) and Bobby Reichert (Yorkville, Ill.-Yorkville) have scored one goal each.
