Titans fall to 6-4, 0-2 CCIW

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 conference match to Augustana College Saturday, April 3. The Titans move to 6-4 and 0-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin as the Vikings move to 4-3 and 3-0 in the CCIW.

At No. 1 doubles junior Demetrios Triantafel (Indian Head Park, Ill.-LaGrange Lyons) and sophomore Carter Burk (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal U High) secured IWU's only win of the day, as the pairing took the match 8-5. Triantafel and Burk sit at 6-3 as partners in the 2020-21 campaign.

Burk, freshman Evan Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington), and senior Dylan Mikaili (Naperville, Ill.-Waubonsie) at No. 2, 5, and 6 singles, respectively, battled in tight matches, but were edged by Augie.

The Titans are back in action next week to host Carthage College Saturday, April 10 and Carroll University Sunday, April 11, matches are slated for 10 a.m. at Beadles-Morse Courts.
