Baseball Returns to Action for Battle with Bluejays

Titans lead the season series with the Bluejays 2-1

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team remains on the road for a single game at Elmhurst University Wednesday evening, April 28 at Butterfield Park. First pitch between the Titans and Bluejays is scheduled for 5 p.m.

The Titans check in at 16-13 on the season, including an 11-10 mark in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. Illinois Wesleyan, which is returning to action for the first time in nearly a week, split a doubleheader at Carroll, April 22. IWU fell in the opener 5-3 and blew by the Pioneers 15-3 in the nightcap. The Bluejays are 13-17 overall, and sit at 9-14 in the conference. Most recently, Elmhurst went 1-2 in a three-game set against Carroll, April 24-25. EU took the opener 15-12, but lost the next two games 7-2 and 7-5. 

Illinois Wesleyan leads the season series against Elmhurst, 2-1. IWU won the first half of a doubleheader, March 20, blowing by the Bluejays 10-3. Elmhurst claimed the nightcap 9-5, but the Titans bounced back with a 4-1 win at EU, March 21.
