Baseball Set for Three-Game Series Against Augie

Saturday doubleheader at Horenberger kicks off weekend series

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team squares off against Augustana College in a three-game College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin series Saturday-Sunday, April 17-18. The first two games of the series will kick off with a 1 p.m. first pitch at Horenberger Saturday, April 17, before the two tangle in Rock Island, Ill., April 18. Sunday's first pitch is set for 1 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan enters the weekend on the heels of a midweek sweep of Wheaton, April 14. The Titans topped the Thunder 8-2 and 11-10 to jump to 13-11 overall and 8-8 in league games. Augie sits at 18-3 on the year, including a 10-3 CCIW mark. The Vikings are on a four-game win streak, having beaten North Park 9-5, April 14.

Junior Cole Greer (Springfield, Ill.-Pleasant Plains) powered the Titans past the Thunder, going 6-for-8 with six runs scored and three RBIs in IWU's sweep of Wheaton, April 14. Greer, who holds a seven-game hit streak, boosted his season average to .355, the second-best on the team. Junior Evan Ranneklev (Naperville, Ill.-Ranneklev) leads Illinois Wesleyan with a .385 average, and is also the team leader in hits (40) and doubles (8).
