Volleyball Finishes Off Season with Survivor Challenge

Titans finish with 7-4 record

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team closed out its season as host of the Survivor Invitational Wednesday night, April 14, inside the Shirk Center. The Titans hosted No. 3 Carthage and No. 6 Millikin for a three-team round-robin end of season tournament. 

IWU dropped a tight four-set match to the third-ranked Firebirds with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, and 25-20. The Titans came up short against the sixth-ranked Big Blue by scores of 22-25, 25-13, 25-22, 25-16.

In Illinois Wesleyan's match against Carthage, junior Courtney McAuliffe (Lemont, Ill.-Lemont) registered a match-high 16 kills on a .481 attacking percentage, along with a pair of blocks. Sophomore Grace Sanders (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) also finished with double digit kills, tallying 11. She also tied junior Amber Juarez (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal U High) for the team lead with 15 digs. Junior Madi Corey (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) dished out a match-best 25 kills, and added six aces and six digs. 

McAuliffe once again paced the Titans in the second match of the night, talling 14 kills to go along with four blocks against Millikin. Senior Jessica McCall (Wayne, Ill.-Wheaton St. Francis) added nine kills on a .364 clip, while also notching six digs. Sophomore Evy Makris (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) and junior Dana Kiszkowski (Schaumburg, Ill.-Schaumburg) finished with seven kills each, with Kiszkowski adding three blocks. 

The Titans finish the season with a 7-4 record, including a 5-2 mark in CCIW play.
