Taylor Named CCIW Face-Off Player of the Week

First weekly honors in Taylor's career

NAPERVILLE, Ill.-  Junior Zac Taylor (Brighton, Mich.-Brighton) on the Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defense/Face-Off Player of the Week, announced on Monday, March 29. This is Taylors first weekly honor in his IWU career and the first Defense/Face-Off honors for the Titans this season. 

The Brighton, Mich. native, aided the Titans to two victories this past week. Including a 12-11 win over Aurora University Wednesday, March 24 and a 21-18 win against Southern Virginia Saturday, March 27. 

Taylor went 5-of-8 at the X and picked up three ground balls during the match between the Titans and Spartans. Against SVU, Taylor was 11-for-13 at the face-off X picking up 11 ground balls from his 11 face-off wins. 

Not only did Taylor have an impressive face-off performance against SVU, the junior also scored two goals for the Green and White, one coming from his own face-off win.

The Titans start CCIW play on the road in Rock Island, Ill. against Augustana College Thursday, April 1.
