BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team registered a 2-0 win over Carthage College in an exhibition match Saturday, March 27.
The Titans earned the shoutout courtesy of senior goalkeeper
Kelli McCarthy (San Diego, Calif.-Cathedral Catholic) and goals from junior
Caelyn Steffens (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) and sophomore
Lauren Shanks (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic).
IWU honored its eight seniors before the match, including goalkeeper McCarthy,
Megan O'Neal (St. Charles, Ill.- St. Charles East),
Maureen McGrath (Inverness, Ill.- St. Viator),
Anna Eager (Evansville, Wis.- Evansville),
Sydney Pinder (Liberty Township, Ohio- Lakota East),
Cameron Hindel (Batavia, Ill.- Batavia),
Jehan Dib (Palatine, Ill.-Fremd), and
Peyton Howe (Austin, Texas- James Bowie).
The eight seniors were a part of three NCAA Tournaments, a pair of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament Championships, and a 46-16-2 overall record.
