Men's Volleyball Suffers Setback in Straight Sets at NPU

Titans fall 25-20, 25-21, 25-13

CHICAGO - Illinois Wesleyan University's men's volleyball team suffered a three-set loss in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play at North Park University Wednesday night, March 17. The Titans (2-11, 1-7 CCIW) were tripped up by the Vikings (7-5, 4-4 CCIW) in straight sets by scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-13.

Michael Eastman (Chicago, Ill.-Saint Ignatius) and KJ Johnson (Saint John, Ind.-Marian Catholic) led the Titans in the loss. Eastman tallied a team-high 13 kills, while Johnson notched a team-high 11 digs to go along with seven kills and a match-high three aces. 

IWU finished with 25 kills on 98 attempts (.041), while NPU hit .240 with 38 kills on 100 attempts. Illinois Wesleyan held a 6-4 advantage in service aces, while North Park owned an 8-2 ege in blocks. 

With the Titans' four-match, three-week long roadtrip in the rearview mirror, IWU returns to action at home, March 24, when Augustana College visits the Shirk Center for a 7 p.m. first serve.
