The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has approved a policy that will allow limited spectators at events beginning March 13, 2021. Though there is broad approval for spectators, each campus will manage spring sporting events according to the uniqueness of each venue and local health conditions related to COVID-19. Specifics related to Illinois Wesleyan's spectator policy can be found below.
General guidance is as follows:
- To limit the number of outside visitors to our campus in all sports where it is possible to host spectators, each student-athlete and coach is limited to four guests at each HOME contest who are legally or emotionally related to them. Seating and entrance information can be found in the policies specific to each venue below.
- Once in the facility, guests may not re-enter if they exit the facility unless approval is granted from Ticket Manager or Game Supervisor.
- Gates will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the contest.
- Student-athletes are not permitted to transfer their guest privileges. Any violation will result in the loss of all guest privileges for the entire team for the remainder of the season.
- A limited amount of students/faculty & staff with ID will be permitted to attend outdoor events. More details can be found in the policies specific to each venue below.
- All guests may sit in their socially distant pods (SDP). i.e. close family members, roommates, etc. All other guests must remain socially distanced at all times when in the facility.
- All guests must respect the barrier that keeps spectators at least 12 feet from student-athletes at all times including bench areas, dugouts, warm-up areas, etc. Barriers will be clearly marked and signage will be in place to clearly identify spaces and rules.
- All guests must wear a mask or face covering that is covering the nose and mouth AT ALL times.
- Guests are prohibited from consuming food at any contests. Guests may lift or lower their mask, not remove, to drink a beverage.
- Guests must observe the institution's seating policies, must remain socially distant and may not interact with any student-athlete while in the facility.
- Guests are asked to depart the facility as soon as the contest is over and will NOT be permitted to meet with any student-athletes at the athletic facility.
- Tailgating is strictly prohibited at all athletic venues.
