Men's Tennis Looks to Continue Perfect Season at Principia College

IWU takes on Webster and Principia, Saturday Feb. 20

ELSAH, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team hits the road for matches against Webster University and Principia College at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively, Saturday, Feb. 20 at Principia. The Titans are returning to the court after wins against Greenville University  and Loras College last weekend Feb. 13, advancing to 3-0 in the season. 

Junior Demetrios Triantafel (Indian Head Park, Ill.-LaGrange Lyons), sophomore Carter Burk (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal U High), and freshman Ryan McCoy (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Rolling Meadows) led the Titans in No.1, 2, and 3 singles respectively, taking wins in matches against Greenville and Loras. 

The Green and White will face Webster for the fifth time since 2011, while it is the fourth between Principia and IWU since 2012. Illinois Wesleyna and Webster last met on WU's campus on March 3, 2020, with the Titans taking a 5-4 victory over the Gorloks. IWU will be searching for its first win against the Panthers in nearly a decade, as the Titans are winless in the last three meetings.
