BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team will host North Central College in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament Semifinal round Wednesday, Nov. 3. The Titans took a share of the CCIW regular season title with Wheaton College and are seeded second in the league with a 7-1 conference standing. IWU will face third-seeded North Central (6-2) at Neis Field for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

The Titans will play North Central, while first-seeded Wheaton will play fourth-seeded Augustana College in the other semifinal bout. The winners of each game will advance to the tournament championships Saturday, Nov. 6.

The Green and White are back on the pitch after a 8-0 blowout of Carthage College Saturday, Oct. 30. Three different Titans scored multiple goals including seniors Izzy Mitra (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community), and Heather Dietrich (Geneseo, Ill.-Geneseo), and junior Lauren Shanks (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) who each scored two apiece. Seniors Caelyn Steffens (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) and Riley Haug (Elmhurst, Ill.-York Community) rounded out the scoring with one each.

Shanks also added two assists in the extinguishing of the Firebirds for a six-point night putting herself in the IWU all-time record books, tied for 10th in most points in an individual game. With Steffens goal on Saturday, the Normal, Ill. native broke the 50-goal individual career threshold (26 at UW-Platteville, 24 at IWU).

IWU last saw the Cardinals in Naperville, Ill., Oct. 13, where the Green and White won 2-1. Junior Maggie Peters (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) recorded her first-career goal during the match, alongside Erin Peck (Whetaon, Ill.-Wheaton St. Francis) who grabbed her first goal of the season, to take the win on the road.

The Titans have been in every CCIW Tournament Semifinal round since 2002. IWU and Wheaton are the only two schools in the conference to have made tournament appearances every season since 2002.

The game will be available via livestream here and livestats can be accessed here. Ticket prices for the tournament will be $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, students, and children age 6-14. Current Illinois Wesleyan students can attend for free with their student ID, while no other passes will be accepted.
