BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team prepares for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin battle against Wheaton College Saturday, Oct. 9. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 4:30 p.m. in Wheaton, Ill.

Senior Caelyn Steffens (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) was named the CCIW Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday, Oct. 5. The senior contributed a total of six points over two games in a 2-0 week that included wins against Elmhurst University and Concordia University Wisconsin.

The Normal, Ill. native recorded a four-point day in the Titans 4-0 win over the Bluejays credited to her game-winning goal in addition to two assists. Against Concordia Wisconsin, Steffens scored the third goal for the Titans to retake the lead 3-2, as the Titans eventually went on to win 4-3 in overtime.

The Titans hold a 4-5-1 overall record and sit among the top in the CCIW with a 2-0 standing. Ahead of the Titans by one game, Wheaton moved to a 5-5-1 record after a 2-0 win against North Park University Wednesday, Oct. 6. After the win, Wheaton leads the conference, along with North Central, with a 3-0 CCIW record.

IWU and Wheaton last played in the 2019 season where the Titans fell 1-0 to, at the time, No.8/9 Wheaton. That same season the Green and White won the CCIW Tournament Championship to advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Both the Titans and Thunder represented the CCIW in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, as IWU received the league's automatic bid and Wheaton earned an at-large berth.
