12 Titans Named Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athletes

Award recognizes academic excellence for 2020-21 season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -
Members of the Illinois Wesleyan University softball team were recognized Tuesday afternoon for their academic excellence during the 2020-21 season. The Titans had 12 players named as Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar-Athletes. 

Over 8,800 student-athletes were named 2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, the Association announced on Tuesday afternoon. With the highest total in NFCA history, it marked the second consecutive year achieving the 8,000-plus plateau.

The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division III led the way with 2,375 student-athletes earning a 3.5 
grade-point average or higher for 2020-21.

The Titans had two graduated seniors named to the team in Hannah Heraty (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) and Lexi Trammell (Peoria, Ill.-Limestone). Returners Erica Barker (Linton, Ind.-Linton-Stockton),
Maya Black (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood), Hayley Earl (Washington, Ill.-Washington), Megan Fontanetta (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Buffalo Grove), Natalie Grubczak (Medinah, Ill.-Lake Park), Madie Monk (Manteno, Ill.-Manteno), Madison Moore (Verona, Wis.-Edgewood), Colleen Palczynski (Mt. Prospect, Ill.-Prospect), Bailey Turner (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community West), and Hope Yeoman (Lafayette, Ind.-William Henry Harrison) were also recognized as Scholar-Athletes.
