Box Score
JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team left Jacksonville, Ill. with a 0-0 tie against Illinois College Tuesday, Oct. 5. The Titans move to 1-6-1 with the draw in their last non-conference match of the season as the Blueboys now hold a 7-4-1 record.

Senior Zack Kokes (Naperville, Ill.- Naperville Central) led the Green and White with a total of six shots. As a unit the Titans outshot IC 17-4 (4-1 SOG).

IWU kept the pressure on the Blueboys in the first 45 as they outshot IC 7-2. Despite their chances on goal the Titans headed into the locker room tied 0-0 at half.

Similarly, the Titans held the advantage in their attacking third, tallying on an additional eight shots to IC's one in the second half. Kokes saw a late-minute opportunity from a corner around the 82-minute mark though, but his header dinged off the crossbar.

Tied at 0-0, junior Dane Hoare (Chicago, Ill.-Von Steuben) slipped a ball to junior Nico Thomas (Rochester Hills, Mich.-Bethany) five minutes into overtime but it was stopped by the Blueboys goalkeeper. In addition to Thomas' attempt the Titans added another shot in the first 10 but could not capitalize sending the two teams into double-overtime.

Freshman goalkeeper Ethan Fineman (Highland Park, Ill.-Highland Park) made one save during the second overtime to preserve the scoreless tie.

The Titans are back on the road for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin matchup against Wheaton College Saturday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
