BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team travels for its last road game of the regular season to Waukesha, Wisconsin to play Carroll University Saturday, Oct. 23. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. as the first leg in the men's and women's doubleheader against the Pioneers.

The first set of NCAA regional rankings were announced this week, which recognized women's soccer along with nine other schools in Region VIII. The Titans along with Wheaton College are the only College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin teams to be listed. The NCAA regional rankings determine who is considered for that sport's championship field.

Within the CCIW, IWU leads in goals with 16 over five games as Wheaton and NCC round out the top three with 14 apiece over five games played.

As the regular season comes to its final leg, with only three regular season games remaining for the Green and White, they currently are tied for second with North Central College. Both teams hold a 4-1 conference record, but in a tie-breaker situation the Titans hold the upper hand since they defeated the Cardinals 2-1, Oct. 13.

The Titans are coming off a non-conference 1-0 loss to No. 3 Washington University in St. Louis Wednesday, Oct. 20. Meanwhile, the Pioneers will return to the field after a 2-0 win over CCIW's Carthage College Wednesday, Oct. 20 to give them a 2-2-1 conference standing.

Against the Pioneers, the Titans have the advantage in the all-time series with a 5-1-1 record dating back to the 2009 season. IWU has seen Carroll a total of seven times with Saturday's meeting marking the eighth. In its latest meeting during the 2019 season, the Green and White beat the Pioneers with its largest win margin in the series at 4-1. Prior to that, it always ended in a one-goal difference between the two teams.
