Men’s Soccer Set to Take on Vikings

Titans will play at 3:30 p.m. inside Neis Field

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team returns to Neis Field for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game against Augustana College Saturday, Oct. 16. The Titans and Vikings will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. following the women's match which is set for 1 p.m.

IWU and Augie both played midweek matches against CCIW opponents earlier this week. The Titans are 1-2 in the CCIW after falling in a close match, 1-0 to D3soccer.com's 14th-ranked North Central College Wednesday, Oct. 13. Augustana now holds a 0-5 record in the CCIW, as its latest contest resulted in a 2-0 loss against Elmhurst University Wednesday, Oct. 13.

Between the two squads, the Vikings have a slight advantage in the all-time series of 18-14-3. Recently the Green and White have been successful in bouts with Augie as the last 10 games have seen IWU come out victorious nine times. The latest game between the two was during the 2020 season where IWU had four countable matches, one being against the Vikings in the season opener where the Titans won 2-1 in overtime.
