BLOOMINTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team is set to travel to Waukesha, Wis. for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin matchup Wednesday, Oct. 13. The Green and White will take on Carroll University inside Van Male Fieldhouse with first serve slated for 7 p.m. The Titans enter this dual with an overall record 11-10 (4-1 CCIW), while the Pioneers have a 6-14 overall record (0-4 CCIW). 

The Titans last saw the court Saturday, Oct 9 as the team participated in the WashU Invite in St. Louis, Mo. The Green and White lost in straight sets to No. 9 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and then defeated No. 23 WashU in straight sets to go 1-1 in the tournament. 

Illinois Wesleyan possesses an overall record of 6-1 against Carroll. The Green and White enjoyed a five-match win streak from Oct. 21 1995 - Oct. 16 2018. The Titans lone defeat came Oct. 2, 2019 in four sets. Most recently, the two teams squared off March 28, 2021 in which IWU swept the Pioneers in straight sets. 

Head coach Kim Nelson-Brown has the opportunity to reach the 500-win mark in her illustrious Illinois Wesleyan head coaching career as she is sitting on 499 career wins ahead of this Wednesday's match. She currently ranks 32nd on the Division III wins list among active head coaches. 

As a team, IWU is currently ranked first in the CCIW for assists per set with an 11.74 clip, which totals 892 assists for the season. The setting duo that features senior Madi Corey (Frankfort, Ill. - Lincoln-Way East) and freshman Ava Porada (Frankfort, Ill. - Lincoln-Way East) have accounted for 763 total assists for the year. Corey has 410 assists and Porada has 353 assists for the year. Elmhurst University checks in at number two with 11.54 assists per set. 

The Titans offensive unit that is led by senior Courtney McAuliffe (Lemont, Ill. - Lemont) has Illinois Wesleyan ranked number one in the CCIW with 12.49 kills per set, which totals 949 kills for the season. Elmhurst is number two on the list with 12.41 kills per set. 

The IWU defense is accumulating 17.58 digs per set, which is good for second in the CCIW as Elmhurst is leading this category with 17.94 digs per set. Senior Amber Juarez (Bloomington, Ill. - Normal U High) has produced the most digs on the team with 199. Junior Grace Sanders (Bloomington, Ill - Bloomington) and sophomore Faith Washko (Springfield, Ill. - Sacred Heart-Griffin) have accumulated 190 and 185 digs, respectively.
