Women’s Soccer Welcomes Concordia Wisconsin to Town Sunday

Non-conference match marks first-ever meeting between the two

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team returns to action this Sunday, Oct. 3 for a 1 p.m. non-conference match at Neis Filed against Concordia University Wisconsin. The Titans hold a 3-5-1 overall record and look to continue its perfect home record of 2-0 as CUW enters Neis Field with a 6-1 overall record and is 4-0 on the road.

IWU has seen success in its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin matches. In total the Titans have net nine goals over two CCIW games without allowing one. The Green and White shutout both North Park University and Elmhurst University 5-0 and 4-0, respectively. 

At the forefront for the Titans is senior Caelyn Steffens (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community), who leads the squad with 14 points, credited to five goals and four assists over the span of nine games. Following closely behind is junior Lauren Shanks (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) with 12 points, on four goals and four assists. Freshman Tegan Timerman (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) sits third in goals scored for IWU with two. 

The Titans and Falcons are set to face off for the first time ever this Sunday. CUW is scheduled to play Saturday, Oct. 2 against Rockford University before taking a non-conference break to play the Titans.
