Men’s Soccer Travels to Michigan for Game With No. 3 Calvin

Game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET start

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team travels to Grand Rapids, Mich. to play No. 3 Calvin University Saturday, Oct. 2. The Titans are 1-5 on the season as the Knights welcome IWU with an overall record of 7-2-2. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff. 

Calvin is ranked among the top-three in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division III Top-25 rankings. The Knights moved from No. 7  to No. 3, which was their initial ranking in the preseason poll announced Aug. 4. 

The Titans return to the field after securing their first win on the year over Monmouth College 4-0, Tuesday, Sept. 28. IWU saw four different goal scorers including junior Dane Hoare (Chicago, Ill.-Von Steuben), sophomores Sasha Tylnyy (Wheeling, Ill.- Buffalo Grove), and Gavin Smith (Seattle, Wash.-Eastside Preparatory School) who each grabbed their first goal of the season, and senior Zack Kokes (Naperville, Ill.-Naperville Central) with his third of the year.

The Green and White have played the Knights once previously. The Titans traveled to Michigan for their 2019 season opener, where they were edged 2-1.
