BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team clinched victories over Illinois College and Greenville University Saturday, Feb. 29 at Evergreen Racquet Club. IWU handed IC a 9-0 setback and bested GU 6-3.

IWU came looking to bounce back after setbacks against IC and GU just last season. Each Titan picked up a win during singles and doubles play against the Blue Boys, respectively. 

Sophomore Demetrios Triantafel (Indian Head Park, Ill.-LaGrange Lyons HS) and freshman Carter Burk (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal U High) were the lone duo team to pick a win at No. 1 doubles against the Panthers, topping GU's Tyler Blume and Matthew Rodriguez 8-0. 

In the same meeting with GU, senior Ryan Yoo (Long Grove, Ill.-Adlai E. Stevenson HS) defeated Blume 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles, while juniors Justin Piotrowski (Palatine, Ill.-Fremd HS) and Dylan Mikaili (Napperville, Ill.-Waubonsie Valley HS) also earned wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. 

The Titans will head into a Spring Break Trip with a 6-2 overall record. The first matches of the trip are scheduled for Tuesday, March 10 against Wabash College and College of St. Scholastica.
