KANKAKEE, Ill. - Freshman Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) cruised to her first collegiate individual title as the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team closed out the fall season with a win at the ONU Fall Intercollegiate Saturday, Oct. 10. Thorman took home medalist honors with a seven-stroke cushion, finishing at 10-over, while the Titans topped the team standings by a 28-stroke advantage on the par-72 Elks Country Club.

Thorman fired a two-over 74, the best round of any player in the field, to earn the individual victory by a seven-stroke margin. With the win, Thorman is the first freshman to earn medalist honors since current senior Jackie Garcia (San Diego, Calif.-Cathedral Catholic) did so at the Viking Invitational, April 28-29, 2018.

Garcia tied for second with a 161, while seniors Maggie Warrner (Lakewood, Wis.-Wabeno Area/Laona) and Jenna DeMay (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) and freshman Lexi Onsrud (Normal, Ill.-Normal U High) finished fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively. Warner finished with a two-day total of 164, followed by DeMay's 165 and Onsrud's 168.
