BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team returns to Neis Field for home games on back-to-back days, playing against Calvin College Friday, Sept. 6 and against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Sophomore Caelyn Steffens (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) scored the lone goal for the Titans in their first two games, with junior Cameron Hindel (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia HS) assisting against Redlands on Aug. 30. Steffens also leads the team in shots taken with four, with Hindel, freshman Lauren Shanks (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic), and sophomore Erin Peck (Wheaton, Ill.-Wheaton St. Francis HS) just behind with three shots each. IWU outshot both opponents on the road trip, having 22 shots with 16 on goal while allowing 19 shots with 11 on goal.
Calvin dropped its first two games of the season, with a 3-0 loss against WashU, Aug. 30, and a 1-0 loss versus George Fox, Aug. 31. UW-La Crosse has a record of 1-2-0 through three games, opening with a 7-1 win at St. Scholastica, before losing 3-1 at Saint Benedict, Aug. 31. Most recently, UW-La Crosse was handed a 2-1 setback by Concordia-Wisconsin, Sept. 3.
IWU's match against Calvin is slated for 4 p.m. Friday night, Sept. 6. The Titans wrap up their weekend against UW-La Crosse with a 4 p.m. scheduled start time on Saturday, Sept. 7. Links for live stats and live stream can be found by clicking here.
