Women's Soccer Looks to Keep Win Streak Going at UW-Stevens Point

The Titans non-conference finale is scheduled for 1 p.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team will play their final non-conference game of the season at UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon, Sept. 28. The Titans come into the weekend with a record of 4-4-0 and a three-game winning streak, with two wins last weekend in Oshkosh versus No. 8/13 St. Thomas (2-1, Sept. 21) and UW-Oshkosh (2-0, Sept. 22).

IWU and UW-Stevens Point have only one prior meeting, a scoreless draw in 2007. The Pointers hold a 6-1-2 record following wins over Wartburg (2-1, Sept. 21) and Dubuque (1-0, Sept. 22).

IWU's 3-0 week culminated in sophomores Caelyn Steffens (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) and Maria Fields (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East HS) capturing College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week honors, Sept. 24. The week also saw senior Flower Edington (Wilmette, Ill.-New Trier Township HS) and juniors Maureen McGrath (Inverness, Ill.-St. Viator HS) and Megan O'Neal (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles East HS) score their first goals of the season.

Steffens leads all TItans with four goals on the season. She is tied with junior Cameron Hindel (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia) for the team lead in points, as Hindel has recorded three goals and a team-best two assists.

Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. in Stevens Point, Wis. Links for the live stats and live stream can be found here.
