Men’s Soccer Prepares for Neis Field Match Against Dubuque

IWU won last year’s match-up, 4-2

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team will compete in a non-conference match versus the University of Dubuque Tuesday evening, Sept. 24. The Titans look to continue their positive momentum coming off a 4-0 victory against Principia last Saturday, Sept. 21. IWU's all-time record versus the Spartans is 4-3-0 going into Tuesday's match.

IWU currently sports a 3-4-0 record, while Dubuque has a 5-1-1 record, with their last contest against Grinnell College, Sept. 21, resulting in a 3-1 win. IWU's match at the Spartans last season was a 4-2 victory, with senior Jack Dilger (Homer Glen, Ill.-Lockport Township HS), fellow senior Patrick Hickey (Des Plaines, Ill.-St. Viator HS), and sophomore Donovan Malone (Houston, Texas-St. Pius X HS) scoring goals in the game. Senior Josh Essary (League City, Texas-Clear Springs HS) and junior Bobby Reichert (Yorkville, Ill.-Yorkville HS) also added assists.

For the season, Hickey leads all Titans with 19 shots and nine shots on goal. Senior Justin Yaeger (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West HS) leads all players with two assists, both of them coming in the previous game versus Principia, Sept. 21.
