BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Winning for the 11th straight time, the Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse team took a 14-7 decision over Carroll University in the semifinals of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament on Wednesday, May 1, at Tucci Stadium.
The No. 1-seed Titans are 16-2 and will host the University of Chicago at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, in the CCIW finals. The Maroons (15-2) used an 11-6 second half to defeat North Central by a 17-10 count on Wednesday night.
Six players were in the scoring column for Illinois Wesleyan, led by three goals each from
Bridget O'Malley and
Landry Elliott.
Maggie Torres,
Dani Engelbreit,
Riley Rooney and
Grainne Kelly each had two goals while Engelbreit,
Sam Bidlack and Kelly each had three assists in the win.
Illinois Wesleyan had a total of 25 shots with 23 of those being shots on goal while Carroll had 23 shots with 17 shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Janaye Godfrey made 10 saves in the game.
