WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team won for the 10th straight time and secured sole ownership of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championship with a 28-9 win over Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis., on Saturday, April 27.
The Titans, who fired off a school-record 105 shots with 66 shots on goal, closed out their regular season with a 14-1 record and a 6-0 mark in the conference. The Pioneers' season ends with an 0-15 ledger (0-6 CCIW).
The previous record for shots in an IWU game was 103 against Wittenberg (Feb. 25, 2018).
Illinois Wesleyan also set single-game records for ground balls (87), faceoffs won (38 tied record), caused turnovers (30), and even turnovers committed (37).
The 87 ground balls is a new NCAA Division III record, eclipsing the mark of 80 set by Husson vs. Thomas (Maine) on March 28, 2018and the 38 faceoffs is tied for the most in a game this season in Division III.

Will Rossi led 15 players in the IWU scoring column with five goals, while
Scott Allgood,
Rick Smith,
Ty Collins and
Brett Grabarek each scored three goals.
