DECATUR, Ill. -- Freshman Evan Ranneklev belted a three-run homer in the first inning but the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team scored only one more run the rest of the way in a 9-4 setback to Millikin University on Saturday, April 20, at Sunnyside Park in Decatur, Ill.

Illinois Wesleyan is 14-15 overall and 7-8 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action while Millikin improved to 15-15 overall and 10-8 in the CCIW after completing a three-game weekend sweep of IWU.

Junior third baseman Dalton Fletcher and senior shortstop Stephen Billington each had two hits of the eight IWU safeties with Billington and freshman Connor Olson adding doubles to Ranneklev's homer as the team's extra base hits.

Starter Braden Miller (0-3) was the first of seven Titan pitchers as he was tapped for six runs on four hits with five walks in 1 1/3 innings.

The Titans face the Augustana Vikings in a single game at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 at Horenberger Field ...
