Titan Softball Sweeps North Park as Prager Gets 100th Coaching Victory

CHICAGO, Ill. -- In her third season at the school, Illinois Wesleyan head coach Tiffany Prager got her 100th career win as the Titans took both ends of a doubleheader by scores of 8-0 at North Park University at Holmgren Field in Chicago on Friday, April 19.

Prager has a career record of 100-35-1, a winning percentage of .735.
IWU is now 8-0 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play and 23-6 overall while the Vikings are 12-18 overall and 1-9 against league opponents.

Junior Ally Wiegand (13-2) allowed two hits and struck out 15 in the game one shutout and junior Brea Walker (10-3) allowed one hit and struck out seven in a six-inning whitewash.
Wiegand's 158 strikeouts is sixth most in a single season.

In the first game, freshman first baseman Colleen Palczynski had three hits including a double and a home run and knocked home three runs while junior leftfielder Brittany Murphy had three hits with two doubles and two runs batted in. Freshman catcher Hayley Earl had two hits with two RBI and junior third baseman Mia Massaro also had two of IWU's 14 hits.

In game two, IWU scored three in the fifth and four in the sixth to put away the Vikings early. Massaro, Palczynski and Earl each had two of IWU's 10 hits with Palczynski and Earl each providing two runs batted in.

Senior centerfielder Jillian Runyon had two hits in the doubleheader and now has 203 in her career. The school's all-time record for hits is 204 by Ashley Deck from 2005-08.
