BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team lost by scores of 4-3 and 3-2 to Millikin University in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin doubleheader at Horenberger Field on Friday, April 19.
The Titans are now 14-14 overall and 7-7 in the CCIW while the Big Blue improved to 14-15 overall and 9-8 in the league.
Junior centerfielder
Nick Figus and senior leftfielder
John Bosco each had two of the six IWU hits in game one as the Titans left 12 men on base. Junior first baseman
Garrett Shea had an RBI double in the second inning.
Senior
Jacob Houghton (0-1) pitched the final 4 2/3 innings and allowed three hits and two unearned runs while striking out five. Sophomore starter
Eric Bennes allowed two runs on four hits in 4 1/3 innings.
In game two, Shea had two hits with a double while junior third baseman
Dalton Fletcher had a run-scoring ninth inning double.Three pitchers - junior
Jim O'Brien, freshman
Evan Hill (0-2) and sophomore
Matt Blaney - limited Millikin to three hits and only one earned run in the second game. O'Brien, the starting pitcher, struck out two and walked none while allowing two hits in five innings.

Illinois Wesleyan plays at Millikin at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Decatur's Sunnyside Park.
