DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse rallied from a 14-7 deficit with 6:30 left in the third period to outscore Ohio Wesleyan 10-1 the remainder of the game and capture a 17-15 win at Selby Stadium in Delaware, Ohio, on Saturday, March 30.
Illinois Wesleyan improved to 8-1 this season and the Battling Bishops are now 4-6.
Illinois Wesleyan trailed 9-7 at halftime and allowed the first five goals of the third quarter to trail 14-7. But the Titan defense clamped down on the Bishops and allowed only one goal in the final 21:53 of the game. IWU outscored the hosts 6-1 in the final 15 minutes.

Benigno Houser made 19 saves against 34 shots as Ohio Wesleyan held a 34-32 edge in shots on goal. The Titans had 60 total shots to 52 for OWU.
The Titans were led by a four-goal game from freshman
Rick Smith while senior
Will Rossi added three goals and junior
Ty Collins and senior
Bailey Marth each tallied two. Marth and Rossi each provided two assists.
Ohio Wesleyan had a 35-32 lead in ground balls as IWU was led by sophomore
Max Bousky with eight and six from freshman
Daniel Dickerson, who also caused four turnovers. The Bishops admitted to 18 turnovers compared to 14 for IWU.
Illinois Wesleyan won 19-of-35 faceoffs with Bousky taking 16-of-24 and the Titans were also successful on 22 of 26 clear attempts.
Steven Hildebrand, Jack Jeschke and Max Tennant each had three goals to lead Ohio Wesleyan.

Illinois Wesleyan opens College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play on Wednesday, April 3, with a 7:30 p.m. game against North Central in Naperville, Ill.
