Illinois Wesleyan Men's Lacrosse Holds Off Aurora, 14-10, in Road Win

MONTGOMERY, Ill. – Senior Will Rossi scored six goals and freshman Rick Smith added three goals wih two assists to help the Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team stave off a late comeback in a 14-10 win over Aurora University at the Spartan Athletic Field in Montgomery, Ill., on Wednesday, March 27.
 
The Titans are 7-1 and the Spartans are now 4-2 this season. The Titans had a 9-5 lead pared down to 9-7 with 10:58 to play in the third quarter but scored four straight goals to open up a 13-7 lead with 10:04 remaining in the game.
 
IWU outshot the Spartans, 58-38, and had a 54-36 advantage in ground balls with sophomore Max Bousky getting 10 and junior Danny Lowe getting five. The Titans won 21 of 28 faceoffs with Bousky claiming 16 of 22 and senior J.C. Grabarek winning five of six.

Sophomore goalkeeper Will Harris made 12 saves in the win.

Jameson Morrison had four goals and two assists to lead Aurora.
 
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan plays at Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, March 30, at 12 p.m. ET in Delaware, Ohio. The Battling Bishops are off to a 4-5 start. They were 17-4 last year and were conference champions and an NCAA tournament team.
