LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team returns to the Midwest with a 7-4 record after losing its Spring Break finale by a 9-2 score to Southern Maine on Saturday, March 16, at Henley Field in Lakeland, Fla., as part of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.
The Titans were limited to four hits, all singles. Freshman centerfielder Dom DiLillo had both runs batted in, one coming in the fourth to bring in senior leftfielder
John Bosco on a bases-loaded walk and the other coming on a sixth inning sacrifice fly that scored junior first baseman
Dalton Fletcher.
Southern Maine (3-1) had 12 hits and scored in six of the nine innings against 10 Titan pitchers. Centerfielder Devin Warren had a home run among his four hits, scored three runs and drove home three.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan plays a three-game set at Washington U. at Kelly Field in St. Louis with a doubleheader at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, and a 12 p.m. single game on Sunday, March 24.
