Men’s Soccer Hosts Elmhurst for Senior Day

12 seniors playing final regular season match for IWU

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team will honor its 12-man senior class on Senior Day against Elmhurst College Saturday, Nov. 2. The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin regular season finale is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

The senior class that have combined for 59 goals, 45 assists, 163 points, and a senior-class record 40 wins are: Logan Alexander (Geneseo, Ill.-Geneseo HS), Doug Ballard (Solana Beach, Calif.-Canyon Crest Academy), Spencer Bard (Appleton, Wis.-Appleton West HS), Luke Cangilla (Broomfield, Colo.-Broomfield HS), Jack Dilger (Homer Glen, Ill.-Lockport Township HS), Josh Essary (League City, Texas-Clear Springs HS), Patrick Hickey (Des Plaines, Ill.-St. Viator HS), Michael Juarez (Bloomington, Ill.-University HS), Orion Marty (Addison, Texas-Greenhill School), Alex Ruckstaetter (Glen Ellyn, Ill.-Glenbard West HS), Konrad Wasilewski (Algonquin, Ill.-Harry D. Jacobs HS), and Justin Yaeger (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West HS).

IWU currently has a 5-2 conference record with an overall mark of 9-7-0 and can clinch the second seed of the CCIW tournament with a win. IWU holds an 8-7-1 advantage over Elmhurst in the all-time series. The Bluejays currently have a 10-8-1 overall record with a 4-3 CCIW mark, with their last match being a 2-1 defeat against non-conference opponent Knox College, Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Hickey comes into the final match of the regular season tied for fifth for points in a season with 21. If he registers at least one assist, it will be the most points scored by any Titan since 1995 when Jeff Sobek scored 29 points.

The Titans are scheduled to kick off at 4:30 p.m. as the first leg of a doubleheader with the women's soccer team. Links for the live stats and live stream can be found here.
