DECATUR, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team aims for six-in-a-row as it takes on Millikin University, Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Titans rank second in the CCIW with a 5-1 record in addition to their 10-5 overall record.
The Titans lead the all-time series 22-1 over the Big Blue, with last year's match resulting in a 3-0 win with goals by Flower Edington (Wilmette, Ill.-New Trier Township HS),
Peyton Howe (Austin, Texas-James Bowie HS), and
Erin Peck (Wheaton, Ill.-Wheaton St. Francis HS). Millikin has a record of 3-9-2 and a 1-5 CCIW mark, with its most recent match being a 3-2 defeat against Carthage College, Saturday, Oct. 26.
IWU ranks second among all CCIW teams in goals with 32 and first in assists with 27. Junior Cameron Hindel (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia HS) and Peck both lead the Titans with five assists each. The duo of sophomore
Caelyn Steffens (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) and freshman
Lauren Shanks (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) have combined for 13 goals, 6 assists, and 32 points in their first seasons at IWU.
