BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Due to weather scheduled to hit the Bloomington-Normal area, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer match against Millikin University has been moved to Tuesday night, Oct. 29. The match was previously schedueld for Wednesday, Oct. 30, but with freezing rain in the forecast the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin clash with kickoff at 7 p.m. tonight at Neis Field.
IWU finds itself amid a current three-game winning streak ahead of Tuesday night's tilt with Millikin. The Titans have outscored their opponents 9-2 and outshooting them 54-33 in the three-game stretch. IWU is ranked third in the CCIW with a 4-2 record to go with their 8-7-0 overall mark.
Both the Titans and Big Blue are tied in the all-time series with at 18-18-2, with IWU winning the last three meetings in overtime. Last year's edition saw Orion Marty (Addison, Texas-Greenville School) score the game-winner in the extra period. Millikin sports an 5-8-1 overall record along with a 1-5 mark in CCIW play, its most recent match being a 1-0 loss against Carthage College, Saturday, Oct. 26.
Senior Patrick Hickey (Des Plaines, Ill.-St. Viator HS) ranks tied for 15th among all Division III players in game-winning goals with five this season. Sophomore Trevor Martin (San Diego, Calif.-St. Augustine HS) scored the first goal for the Titans in the last two games, the first player this season to accomplish this feat. IWU also ranks third among all CCIW teams in corners with 83.
