BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan sophomore
Sam Munroe came off the bench and scored 27 points with six 3-pointers, helping the No. 13-ranked Titans to a 97-52 win over North Park on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Shirk Center.
Winning for the fifth straight time, the Titans improved to 16-3 overall and 9-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and the Vikings are now 7-12 overall and 3-7 in league play.
Munroe's previous game-high was 21 against North Central on Jan. 24, 2018. Against North Park she made 10 of 12 from the field and hit six of her seven 3-point tries.
Illinois Wesleyan had a 38-25 lead at halftime and outscored the Vikings by a 59-27 score in the second half, including a 37-11 edge in the final 10 minutes.
Junior
Sydney Shanks scored 16 points and sophomore
Raven Hughes added 15 in the win as the Titans shot .522 from the field (36 of 69) and made eight of 15 3-pointers (.533).
The Titans held a commanding 45-27 rebound lead in the game and were led by nine from sophomore
Riley Brovelli and eight from senior
Ashley Schneider.
North Park got 12 points from freshman Jayla Johnson.

Illinois Wesleyan has a weekend off and plays next at Wheaton College on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m. The Thunder has a 15-4 overall record and are tied for first with IWU at 9-1 in the conference with a after a 76-59 win at Carroll on Wednesday ... Wheaton has a Saturday game against Carthage in Kenosha, Wis.
