BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team had its six-game winning streak snapped with a 1-0 loss to No. 22-ranked Wheaton College in the conference opener for both teams on Saturday, Sept. 29 at IWU's Neis Field on "Titan Pride Game Day".
Illinois Wesleyan slipped to 7-2-1 and 0-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Thunder improved to 8-2-0 overall and 1-0 in the CCIW.
The Titans and Thunder battled through a scoreless first half before Whetaon's Chelsea Gnan scored the game's only goal at 72:08, assisted by Aeva Graber and Madison Peebles.
Illinois Wesleyan had four shots compared to Wheaton's 15. Sophomore
Kelli McCarthy had two saves.
