NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Goals by
Flower Edington and
Rachel White were enough to put the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over North Central College at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in Naperville, Ill., on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
The Titans improved to 8-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with the Cardinals falling to 4-7-0 overall and 0-2-0 against league opponents.
Edington scored with just 22 seconds left in the first half after a corner kick assist from sophomore
Megan O'Neal. White got her goal at the 51:18 mark with a double assist from
Cameron Hindel and
Anna Eager.
Illinois Wesleyan outshot North Central, 16-5, and had six shots on goal compared to two for the Cardinals, saved by IWU sophomore keeper
Kelli McCarthy in her sixth shutout of the season.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan's Homecoming game will be a 4:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 6, against the North Park Vikings at Neis Field.
