BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Sophomore Keagan James scored a goal with an assist to freshman Donovan Malone to put the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Wheaton at Neis Field on Saturday, Sept. 29, opening the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin season for both teams.
Winners of seven straight matches, the Titans are 8-1-0 overall while the Thunder falls to 5-4-1. This is the fifth time (5-28) the Titans have beat Wheaton College in 33 matches in school history.
Junior Alex Ruckstaetter had the shutout, his fourth of the season, and made three saves. The Titans had nine shots compared to eight for the Thunder with eight shots on goal for Illinois Wesleyan and three for Wheaton.

The Titans continue CCIW play against North Central on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at home.
