BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- A pair of first-half goals was all that was necessary for the North Central men's soccer team to end a seven-game winning streak by Illinois Wesleyan with a 2-0 win at IWU's Neis Field on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
The Titans are 8-2-0 overall, suffering their first loss since September 1, and are 1-1-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while North Central is now 7-3-0 and 2-1-0 in CCIW play.
Joe Trocki scored his fifth goal of the season at 4:55 with assists to Gavin Sanchez and Alexis Flores, then at 25:02 Flores got his eighth goal of the year with helpers from Austin Lombardi and Spencer Wiese.
The Titans had 15 shots compared to 11 for the Cardinals but the Titans managed just one shot on goal compared to four for North Central.

Illinois Wesleyan has Homecoming this weekend and the Titans will take on North Park University at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. The Vikings were ranked as high as No. 10 in the Sept. 25 United Soccer Coaches Division III poll. In the most recent poll, North Park has fallen from the top 25 and is among teams receiving votes ... In addition to Homecoming, it is the annual "Play for the Cure" game at IWU.
