FRANKLIN, Ind. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team won its fourth consecutive nonconference match, taking a 3-0 victory against Franklin College at Faught Stadium in Franklin, Ind., on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
The Titans improved to 5-1-1 while the Grizzlies are now 2-4-1.
The Titans scored all three of their goals in the first half of the match. Sophomore
Cameron Hindel completed a goal assisted by junior
Flower Edington at 13:42. Then Edington provided two additional goals within a two minute span. Edington scored on an unassisted goal at 21:06 giving the Titans a 2-0 lead and scored again at 22:45 on an assist from junior
Kaitlyn Chen.
Sophomore keeper
Kelli McCarthy made six saves in the shutout win as the Titans outshot the Grizzlies, 22-9, with 11 shots on goal to six for Franklin.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan travels to Terre Haute, Ind. on Saturday, Sept. 22 to meet Rose-Hulman Institute of Technoloy with a 2 p.m. ET kickoff. The Fighting Engineers are 4-3-0 heading into Saturday's nonconference game.
