BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- In a game that saw all the scoring come from penalty kicks, the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team lost a 2-1 decision to Monmouth College on Saturday, Sept. 1, at IWU's Neis Field.
The Titans and Scots now both have 1-1-0 records.
The Titans, who outshot Monmouth by a 21-5 margin, managed a goal from senior
Mason Maier at 84:00 to cut into a 2-0 deficit. Both of the Scots' goals came from Lucas Sondgeroth, the first at 15:38 and the second at 70:20.

The Titans host Knox College on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m.on Neis Field.
