Late Goal Sends Illinois Wesleyan Women's Soccer to 2-1 Setback

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer coaching debut of Tony Dulak resulted in a 2-1 loss to Hope College at Neis Field on Friday, August 31.

The No. 23-ranked Titans got a goal from Jordan Ellerbrock on a crossing pass from Rosie Pettenuzzo at 50:07 to tie the game at 1-1. A goal by Hope's Rylie Dalton off a corner kick by Eliza Beird at 75:20 proved to be the game-deciding goal.

Illinois Wesleyan had five shots in the match compared to 15 for the Dutch, also playing their first game of the season. Keeper Kelli McCarthy made six saves for the Titans.

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan tangles with No. 8-ranked Ohio Northern at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2 at Neis Field. The Polar Bears were 20-2-2.
