AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team managed only five runs out of a 16-hit offense and lost to Wisconsin-LaCrosse, 18-5, in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational at Lake Myrtle Field in Auburndale, Fla., on Thursday, March 15.
The Titans are now 7-2 this season while the Eagles improved to 5-3.
The 2-3-4 hitters in IWU's lineup were 9-for-13 as junior leftfielder
John Bosco, sophomore centerfielder
Nick Figus and senior designated hitter
Gino Cavalieri each had three hits.

Stephen Billington had two singles with an RBI and scored a run. Bosco and junior rightfielder
Jacob Houghton each had two doubles.
Junior starter
Nick Brune (1-1) took the pitching loss, going three innings and allowing 10 runs (seven earned) on 10 hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
LaCrosse's third baseman Brennan Schmitt had four hits with two doubles, a triple and five RBI. The Eagles had three big innings, scoring four in the first, five in the fourth and six in the sixth.
