No. 8 Illinois Wesleyan Men Lose 67-60 CCIW Match at No. 3 Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- After taking a one-point lead of 27-26 in the locker room at halftime, the No. 8-ranked Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team was outscored by eight points in the final 20 minutes and lost 67-60 to No. 3-ranked Augustana College at the Carver PE Center in Rock Island, Ill., on Saturday, Dec. 8.

Losers of two straight, Illinois Wesleyan is now 7-2 overall and 1-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Vikings improved to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Neither team shot the ball well on Saturday night - the Titans were 25 of 58 (.431) from the field and made just two of 15 (.133) from 3-point range, a season-low. Augustana fired at just a .359 clip from the floor (23 of 64), their second lowest of the season, and connected on six of 23 3-pointers (season-low .261), going one for 11 from beyond the arc in the first half (.091).

Senior Brady Rose with 13 points and junior Alex O'Neill with 11 points were the lone Titans to score in double figures and senior Jason Gregoire equaled his career-high with a game-best eight rebounds while also chipping in seven points.

The Vikings' shooting woes were offset by a 45-35 rebounding edge.

Augustana's Nolan Ebel led all scorers with 23 points and teammate Micah Martin scored 13.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Titans break for final exams before their next game at the Shirk Center against Carroll University on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m.
