ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Sophomore Megan O'Neal scored a goal with four minutes remaining to snap a 3-3 tie and give the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team a 4-3 win over Mount St. Joseph Saturday, Nov. 10, in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Division III Tournament Saturday at Francis Field in St. Louis.

The Titans improved to 14-4-2, while the Lions end their season with a 16-3-3 mark. Illinois Wesleyan University takes on No. 1-ranked Washington University in St. Louis at 6 p.m. Sunday at 6 p.m. The Bears are 18-0 with the longest win streak in school history.

The Titans scored two early goals and added another in the second half to take a 3-0 lead in the match. IWU's first goal came at 9:31 as Jordan Ellerbrock scored her sixth of the year on an assist from junior Ellie Crabtree.
Less than 90 seconds later at 10:53, junior Flower Edington got her team-high 10th goal of the season, assisted by Sydney Pinder.

Kaitlyn Chen scored a goal off a rebound at 55:22 with a helper to Edington to give the Titans a huge 3-0 lead.

But the Lions put together three goals over a 15 minute span to tie the game at 3-3. Madeline Rechel (69:30), Kaylan Gruber on a free kick (81:04) and Alley Schmidt on a header (83:50) tied the game.

O'Neal, with an assist on a cross from Crabtree, shot her game-winner in the far corner of the net at 86:00 to provide IWU with the advantage.
