ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team advanced to the championship game of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament with a 2-1 victory over Augustana College in the semifinals on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Thorson-Lucken Field in Rock Island, Ill.
Tournament No. 3-seed Illinois Wesleyan advanced to 13-4-1 overall while the No. 2-seed Vikings fell to 13-3-3. No. 1-seed and No. 10-nationally ranked Wheaton College defeated Elmhurst, 3-0, in the other CCIW semifinal Wednesday.Â

The Vikings were able to score on a penalty kick at 55:51 to even the score at 1-1 but IWU junior
Ellie Crabtree provided the Titans the game-winning goal, unassisted, with just less than 10 minutes remaining in the match.Â
Illinois Wesleyan outshot Augustana, 16-7, with eight shots on goal compared to four for the Vikings. Sophomore goalkeeper

What's Next?
With Wednesday's win, the Titans advance to the CCIW championship match at Wheaton College at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. Live stats and video links can be accessed
here ... Illinois Wesleyan and Wheaton have combined to claim 15 of the 16 CCIW tournament titles, with Augustana in 2009 the only other tournament champion.
